What a Difference One Work Day Makes!

Chad met with our builder on Friday who said he might be able to get us in the house by December 31. I don't think he was kidding about kicking up the timeline, because look how much they completed on the house today!

More roofing up, as well as footings and retaining wall for the covered deck.

Grandma and grandpa come along to look at the house.

More Framing and the Start of the Roof

The house has started moving quickly again! We have walls, and the start of a roof.

You can see how much precipitation we've gotten lately!

Framing Begins!

Last week the framing began, and then the snow came shortly after! Our plumber told Chad we've had precipitation 13 of the last 16 days, but I don't think it will delay the timeline (hopefully!)

Basement Walls and Floors

The rain hasn't stopped the progress on the house. While pouring the concrete for the basement floor has been put on hold, we now have outer walls for the walkout and the floor trusses are done. It's starting to look more like a house each day!

The walkout.

A little closer! There is also plywood down for the main level floor.

Side view - the lot to the west of us just broke ground today.

Backfill & Underground Plumbing

Progress on the house is coming along nicely! The past week or so has been backfill, rough grade, underground plumbing and installing the electric meter. While this has been happening they've been getting the walls ready for framing, so we're thinking once the framing process starts it shouldn't take long at all!

We've been busy making decisions for the exterior and the interior. We've decided on: windows, siding and trim color, gutters, shingles, millwork and doors, door hardware, garage door, cabinets, countertops, interior paint and stone. Whew! Decisions on flooring, lighting and plumbing fixtures are left.

Ta dah!

Uh oh, had a little accident during rough grade. Chad made sure to document!
